# Staking (Lending) $FIL

Our Staking feature allows $FIL holders to deposit their assets into the FILLiquid liquidity pool for lending, providing them an avenue to earn a passive income through lending.

Once a deposit has been made, the protocol will mint $FIT, a liquid staking derivative token (LSD). $FIT serves as a vehicle for dividend allocation and proof-of-stake in the liquidity pool. It can also be used later to farm $FIG.&#x20;

The following pages outline the process of depositing and withdrawing $FIL into the protocol for lending.

Let's take a deeper dive into the Staking product.\ <br>
